If you are looking for a quality, genuine 65 Sunbeam Tiger you would want to consider this one. California original (black plates), known history from new, never rusted or damaged. Factory 260 V/8, 4 speed (original Ford short shifter), Factory hardtop. Listed in the Tiger Registry… has its original engine, transmission and rear end.
I have actually had this car in my collection for many years and it has been a great experience and one of my favorites.
It was sold new in the San Francisco Bay area and was re-possessed by the bank by the next year (oops!). The second owner (1966-2011), whom I acquired it from, owned an Auto Repair / Sales outlet and used the car infrequently over the years for pleasure. Prior to retiring in 2005 he had the car taken from storage and freshened as needed at his shop and by outside vendors. It received a high quality bare metal respray in the factory color; and the original 260 V/8 engine was rebuilt along with other components as needed. At this time an after market aluminum intake / holly 4-barrel carb and custom stainless steel exhaust headers were added; common Tiger upgrades. I have all the original Factory parts and they are included. It also comes with new sun-visors and molded seat foam sourced from Sunbeam Specialties.
Just serviced with fresh oil change and rebuilt carb. The car is an absolute thrill to drive. Plenty of power when needed and yet cruises at low RPM while touring. A wonderful combination of British Sports car with American reliable high performance power.
