    Decades of experience

Old Town Classics has been a reliable name which has been building reputation of expertise and credibility in the classic car market. With more than 3 decades of knowledge in the field, I can provide you with professional, straightforward, and fair experience.

    No hidden fees

Another advantage of selling your 350SL to Old Town Classics is that you won’t have to pay for brokerage services because you will be dealing directly with me. There’s only two parties involved in the sale – you and me. This means that there are no hidden costs and the whole amount goes to you.

    Secure transactions

I have met California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requirements, and I am a licensed dealer, legally allowed to buy and sell classic cars. What this means is that you are legally protected and there aren’t any risks of fraud or scam.

    Full transparency

Ever since I got into the classic car business, my aim was to be transparent and thorough. Here’s what you can expect: I start by assessing your vehicle in detail, including its rarity, model, and history. After evaluating the physical condition of the car, I will take into account its market value and eventually present you with an accurate and honest offer you won’t be able to refuse.

    Vehicle pick-up in California

I am here every step of your sale process, and I prioritize convenience and comfort throughout the entire process. If your car matches my requirements, I will schedule pick-up at your location and a hassle-free sale. As you can see, getting a good price doesn’t have to be complicated at all.

    Friendly, low-key buyer

Over the years, I have closed many sales due to my easy-going and no pressure attitude. My goal is to make the entire experience pleasant for both the seller and myself by creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

    Accepted Car Conditions

I am always looking to buy classic vehicles which are well preserved. I give first priority to vehicles that align with one of the following preferences:

    • Presentable bodywork and paintwork (minor blemishes, no rust)
    • Factory survivor cars
    • Excellent, very good, or good condition
    • Well-maintained inherited cars and barn finds
    • Garage-kept automobiles
    • Non-running cars requiring a little kick to awake
    • Low or high mileage cars
    • No significant damage

    Mercedes 350SL (R107) Interesting Facts

Here are some facts about this magnificent classic car:

    • It was the first SL model with an “R” factory designation instead of a “W”. An “R” indicate it’s a roadster, while a “W” stands for “Wagen” (car)
    • During the pre-launch phase, it was nicknamed “Panzerwagen”
    • This personal luxury car is a two-seat convertible with a fully retractable fabric top and a detachable hardtop
    • The 350SL model was produced from spring 1971 to 1989. No other Mercedes-Benz model has been produced for longer. During that time it had many facelifts
    • The 350SL cars made for the US market had a larger 4.5-litre V8 engine with 3 speed auto. These models were renamed 450SL in 1973 models
    • Two thirds of R107 (and C107) production was sold in North America
    • When launched in the USA, it cost nearly twice as much as a Jaguar E-Type
    • It was replaced in 1989 by the R129 SL

FAQ About 350SL Selling & Buying Process

    1.      How do I know how much my 350SL is worth?

A lot of factors have to be considered when determining the value of a classic car, such as car’s physical condition, mileage, unique features, rareness, and market demand. Factory survivors and original vehicles in good condition with lower miles are better priced than those who have had modifications throughout the years. Other factors include year of production, maintenance history, how the car runs, and whether it needs additional work done. For more information and to get a correct offer for your R107, please give me a call today!

    2.      How do I know if I should sell now or not?

If you are contemplating whether to sell your classic car now or later and need help with making a decision, the wisest thing to do is to first determine what the car is worth by assessing the physical condition of the car (exterior, body, panels, interior, engine, etc.). Next, think of your financials. Can you wait until the car increases in value, or do you need the money now? Finally, you need to factor in market conditions – supply and demand trends and whether the value is expected to further increase or not.

Generally, the interest in classic vehicles is increasing, but it’s always wise to research industry trends or seek professional advice from specialists.

    3.      Will you purchase my car even if I have lost the title certificate?

Definitely! I will accept your vehicle even if you can’t find your title paperwork. I can apply for replacement with your local DMV office. The application includes filling out the form, providing necessary documentation, and paying a processing fee. Please note that it will take some time before the replacement title is issued, however; for extra fee, you may also request rush title processing. For further information regarding the lost title, contact me here.

    4.      What does a pre-purchase inspection include?

A pre-purchase inspection involves thorough examination of exterior for rust and damages (dents, uneven paint, scratches), inspecting wheels and tires, checking engine for damage or leaks, and checking the interior for wear and tear. This inspection also includes taking the car for a test drive to see its performance, to ensure the lights are properly functioning, and to verify that all controls and dashboard are working properly.
