What Porsche 930 Models Am I Interested In?

I’m looking for Porsche 930 vehicles that fit one of the following categories:

    • Inherited Cars: Whether passed down through generations or recently inherited, these vehicles often have a unique history worth preserving.
    • Barn Finds: Hidden gems tucked away for years, waiting to be rediscovered and brought back to life.
    • Well-Maintained Examples: Cars in great condition that have been cared for and kept running smoothly over the years.
    • Original California Survivors: Authentic, untouched California models that showcase their original charm and uniqueness.

If you have a Porsche 930 that fits one of these descriptions, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s discuss its story, condition, and how we can bring it to its next chapter.

Porsche 930 vs. Porsche 911 Turbo: What’s The Difference?

Essentially, they are the same car. “930” is not an official name. Rather, it represents factory code that denotes the first generation of Porsche 911 Turbo car, which was originally planned to be manufactured as a limited series. The 930 model is about agility, speed, and sophistication. During its prime production years, it was regarded as the Germany’s fastest car.

This first generation of turbo had a 3.0-litre turbocharged engine with top speeds of over 155mph (250km/h) was released in 1974, with Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 released in 1977. By 1989, the company introduced several turbo models, such as 195 model with 234 hp, 1978 with 261 hp, 1986 with 282 hp, and 1987 cabriolet with 282hp, but the manufacturing for the US market discontinued due to safety and emissions requirements. After redesigning, it returned to US market until late 80s.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1.      Does my Porsche 930 have good market value?

As one of the most notable classic vehicles on the market, you can be certain that there will be interested buyers who would want to purchase your car.  With its beautiful design characterized by flared fenders and distinctive rear spoiler, and fantastic power, the market is interested in Porsche 930 model. It’s a popular car, but how well It will sell depends mainly on its condition. Before offering the price, the buyer will inspect tha cars engine, interior, exterior, and other important factors.

    2.      How do I prepare for my sale?

To properly prepare for the sale, gather all the paperwork you have regarding ownership, restorations, maintenance, and repair. They are typically required to show potential buyers the history of the car. You should also have certificate of title ready, although some buyers, such as Bill from Old Town Classics, will accept cars without title, too. He will apply for the duplicate of the title instead of you, thus, making the entire process easier and more convenient for you.

    3.      How does mileage affect the value of my Porsche 930?

Miles accumulated significantly impact the price of classic car, with higher mileage typically having lower price due to more wear and tear. Future buyers would rather avoid having to perform potential repairs. Because of this, cars with more mileage are usually less desirable, and their price is lower. Since these cars are manufactured about 35 to 50 years old, they mostly have significant mileages. If you own a low mileage car, it will be more valuable and considered premium in the market.

    4.      Is Porsche 930 considered a rare car?

Porsche 930 is considered relatively rare. Over 20,000 cars were made, less than a standard Porsche 911, and certain variations are highly sought after because they are manufactured in a significantly smaller number, like the “Slantnose”). In fact, the rarest model of Slantnose is considered first generation Slantnose, with only 58 cars manufactured. Since less than a 1000 of Porsche 930 Slantnose were made, they are very hard to come by.
